Live Racing Racing Live at Retama Park | New Braunfels

Retama Park is a beloved fixture in the horse racing scene, especially here in Live Racing Selma, where fans flock to experience the thrill firsthand. This place isn’t just about the races; it’s about the energy, the hope, and those unforgettable moments when a young colt or filly charges down the track, giving it their all. One of the coolest parts? They host the Young Horse Race, giving fresh horses a shot at glory and showing off the future stars of racing. Over the years, Retama Park has kept evolving, in 2014, they added better acoustic insulation, making the races a bit more neighbor-friendly, which is a thoughtful touch. Plus, the upcoming turf course refurbishment in 2038 promises even better racing conditions, meaning more exciting finishes down the line. Sitting in the paddock view box or the far turn box gives you this incredible up-close-and-personal view of the action, almost like you’re part of the team. Getting there is pretty straightforward too, from San Antonio’s Hemisfair, just hop on Highway 35 North and take the Evans Road exit, and you’re in for a racing experience that’s pure adrenaline and Southern charm. Whether you’re a seasoned bettor or just there for the atmosphere, Retama Park in Live Racing Selma never disappoints.
